Program Description
In-person Continuing Education program on the importance of worldviews in perceiving and interpreting the world and how worldview affects relationships, emotional stability, and the therapy process.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
(1) Identify the key domains that comprise an individual's worldview and recognize their influences on the therapeutic process.
(2) Identify potential areas and impacts of counselor-client worldview similarity and dis-similarity, and explain methods for maintaining effective and ethical practices.
(3) Explain the process of significant transformation of an individual's worldview, and the common effects of transformation on emotions and behavior.
(4) Describe the role of shared reality in family and marital relationships and evaluate the impacts of worldview transformation on relationship quality.
(5) Assess a client's worldview areas for different levels of sensitivity, and manage the therapeutic approach appropriately.
